Traffic on 99 is getting ridiculous - what's the solution?

Commute to Stockton daily and the backup at the 580 interchange keeps getting worse. Are there any planned improvements or alternative routes people are using? Something needs to be done about this mess.

I've been taking Maze Blvd to French Camp Road as an alternate. Adds maybe 5 minutes but saves the stress of that backup.
There are some CalTrans projects in the works but nothing major until 2025. Unfortunately we just have to deal with it for now.
